Pop them out and serve as a snack or post-walk reward!
These are also perfect for stuffing into a Kong and freezing for longer-lasting fun.
3. Homemade frozen Bone Broth
Bone broth is an incredible source of nutrients that support joint, gut, and skin health. And yes, your pup can enjoy it frozen too! In this recipe, we prepare the broth from scratch and include a splash of apple cider vinegar during the cooking process to extract the goodness from the bones.
Ingredients:
-
Raw meaty bones (chicken, beef, or lamb — never cooked bones)
-
Enough water to fully cover the bones in your pot
-
1–2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar (raw, unfiltered)
Instructions:
-
Add bones to a large pot or slow cooker.
-
Cover with cold water and add the apple cider vinegar.
-
Bring to a gentle boil, then simmer for 8–24 hours (the longer, the better).
-
Once cooked, strain the broth and let it cool completely.
-
Pour into dog-safe ice cream moulds, and freeze until solid.
Important Reminders:
-
Never use artificial sweeteners, especially xylitol, it’s toxic to dogs.
-
Always introduce new ingredients gradually, especially if your dog has a sensitive stomach.
-
Keep portions small, especially for small breeds or dogs on a special diet.
